2015: Malaysia: John’s book “Tropical Dairy Farming” has been translated into the Malaysian language (for distribution to dairy farmers and their advisers) and launched at special function attended by over 400 dairy farmers. The book launch, at Kuala Lumpur, included a montage (which is attached) and was organised by the Association of Dairy Farmers Malaysia and the Malaysian government’s Department of Veterinary Services.
2014: Advised a milk processing company in India on establishing large scale, intensively managed, feedlot dairies (500 and 2000+ cows). This consultancy includes design of sheds and other feedlot facilities, growing appropriate forages and formulating rations, sourcing and managing cows (including implantation of imported embryos), developing Standard Operating Procedures for skilled staff and developing business management strategies to optimise long term profitability and sustainability.
2013: Moderated international E-conference on "The role of agro-industrial and forestry by-products in the feeding of dairy animals in Asia and other tropical regions" with over 550 participants world-wide, Food and Agriculture Organisation, FAO Regional Office, Bangkok
